Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic adjustment is a procedure in which trained specialists (chiropractors) use their hands or a small instrument to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. The goal of this procedure, also known as spinal manipulation, is to improve spinal motion and improve your body's physical function. Dr. Tiffany Christie has years of training, expertise and experience in helping patients get pain relief for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other related conditions originating from the spine. Chiropractic care under a trained professional is very safe and causes little to no discomfort. It can even be used to prevent injuries and help you achieve total health or wellness.

Therapeutic Exercises

At Seattle Total Health, we give each patient "homework" which includes corrective exercises, stretches and traction tailored to each patients specific complaints. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. You are one functional unit and addressing the soft tissue surrounding the bones is also very important.

Erchonia Laser Downtown Seattle

Erchonia Laser

Lasers have long been used in the world of healthcare and were traditionally known as a surgical precision instrument used to pierce through the skin and cauterize wounds. But with the evolution of cold laser technology, your patients can experience the benefits of laser treatment without the pain and tissue damage typically associated with traditional laser use. Our low-level lasers are designed to operate at a low wavelength and intensity to provide an array of healing benefits.

Cold laser technology can be used to treat a variety of conditions, such as:

  • Low Back Pain
  • Neck and Shoulder Pain
  • Soft Tissue Damage
  • Post Op Pain
  • Heel Pain
  • Onychomycosis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Acne

Graston Technique Downtown Seattle Chiropractor

Graston Technique

Dr. Christie has completed advanced training in Graston Technique, a procedure which allows them to detect and treat scar tissue and adhesions that can reduce range of motion and cause pain.

During the healing process, the body attempts to repair damaged areas by creating scar tissue. In time, this leads to a build up of this fibrous tissue, particularly in muscles, tendons and ligaments that get a lot of use. Since this replacement tissue lacks the strength and flexibility of healthy tissue, it can lead to pain and dysfunction.

The Graston Technique® allows us to better detect and treat these areas. By using a stainless steel instrument that glides along a patient’s muscle, tendons or ligaments with the right amount of pressure,we can detect just where the scar tissue or restrictions are located. When we come across bands of scar tissue, we can sense a restriction and use the Graston instrument to “break up” this restriction or adhesion and help re-align the fibers into the normal pattern of healthy tissue.

Graston technique can be used for neck and shoulder pain, low back pain, and is also great for old or new sport injuries!

ART Active Release Technique Downtown Seattle Chiropractor

Active Release Technique: ART

Active Release Techniques Soft Tissue treatment (ART) is a manual therapy administered by trained professionals to certain soft tissue structures of the body. The ART soft tissue management system is based on scientific evidence that muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue develop adhesions within and between them as a result of various injuries that include: acute (sudden injury), cumulative (chronic injury) and pressure (due to poor posture). These adhesions cause the motion of muscles or joints to be altered, resulting in a wide variety of symptoms including pain, weakness and reduced range of motion, numbness and tingling.

Kinesio Taping Downtown Seattle Chiropractor

Kinesio Taping

The Kinesio Taping® Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio® Tex Tape is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions. The Kinesio® Taping Method is a therapeutic taping technique not only offering your patient the support they are looking for, but also rehabilitating the affected condition as well. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, Kinesio® Tex Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy does more than make you feel good, it can actually help your body achieve balance and health. Massage therapy offers a natural  treatment approach which actually relieves musculoskeletal pain for many patients. Our chiropractic office provides specific massage and muscular therapy that is complimentary to their chiropractic care. Each massage therapy plan is tailored to meet the patient's unique pain condition or injury. The benefits of massage therapy may include the increase of blood circulation, a localized reduction in swelling and the relaxation of muscles. Massage has been known to relieve muscle pain and spasms, increase a patient's range of motion, while also aiding in a patient's recovery. Some investigative studies have even indicated that a single session of massage may help boost your immune system!

Testimonial

  • "A few months ago I started going to see Dr. Christie. She is amazing she did not make me feel bad for not seeing a chiropractor earlier. She went over in detail my x-rays and explained my issues. Dr. Christie takes her time going over what she is doing before she adjusts me."
    Ralph S. Seattle, WA
  • "Dr. Tiffany Christie is my first chiropractor, and I am quite content about making her my last. She takes the time to understand my needs and develops a personalized treatment plan to reach my goals! She makes every visit a treat - she is personable, professional, and passionate about what she does! Her infectious smile, awesome staff, and pain relieving adjustments have me leaving feeling better than when I first come in.

It truly shows when you have health care professionals that enjoy what they do; I feel that their energy radiates onto their patients. Moreover, I get that from Dr. Christie and her staff who provide me with the quality compassionate care that I expect. 5 star treatment and I highly recommend visiting Dr. Christie for all your chiropractic needs!"

  • "I've been to many other chiropractors and not one of them took the time with me that Tiffany did. I was impressed with all of the treatments she offered besides adjustments. She did some soft tissue work on me and used a tool to help break up the scar tissue in my shoulders. I felt a ton of relief when I left. Dr. Tiffany is super sweet, which is a nice change from my last chiropractor who was all business. I LOVED the pre-treatment rolling bed she had me lie on. Get the muscles loosened up and just plain feels good! She also has some retail items that are helpful for aiding in sleeping ergonomically and physical therapy items. It was super nice to work with a chiropractor who wasnt in a rush to get me in and out. That made a big impression on me. Definitely give her a call!"
    Cary T. Seattle, WA

Chiropractic care has never been this good!"
